Yes, I finally visited Norway’s capital! First of all, I would like to thank my good friend Jean. Without her, I cannot book that luxury cruise trip to Scandinavia. I need to pay an extra charge for a double-cabin with window if I am traveling alone. As far as I can remember, it would cost me 279.00 euros extra charge if I was alone that time and that is too much!  I will probably pay if it is under a hundred Euros which I always did when I book a trip alone but paying almost 300.00 euros is too much.

This  friend of mine is a very good travel companion. She also loves to travel like me. Truly appreciate your  decision to travel with me my friend.

The Oseberg ship in the  Viking Ship Museum in Oslo during our visit last April 2013.  ©

Our ship arrived late at night in Oslo that time. I  guess it was around 10:00 in the evening.  It was the last weekend of April and the spring  weather  was still quite cold.  I and my friend decided to go for a night sightseeing in Oslo which was a good decision.

The next day, we go around with the sightseeing bus and decided to go first to the  famous Viking Ship Museum.  I was amazed how the old historical ships were assembled back to its shape.  I guess good adhesives were used to glue it together. If you love to visit museums and learn more about history, the Viking Ship Museum is a good choice.

The main attractions at the Viking Ship Museum are the Oseberg ship, Gokstad ship and Tune ship. Additionally, the Viking Age display includes sledges, beds, a horse cart, wood carving, tent components, buckets and other grave goods which we also witnessed during our sightseeing. The most famous ship you can see inside is the completely whole Oseberg ship.

It just amazed me  how these  thousand year old artifacts  were brought back to life again thru this museum! Indeed,  very interesting!
