Yes, Fasching or carnival season is here again especially in the German-speaking countries like in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. I was watching some Fasching or carnival shows  in a Germany television awhile ago and I was quite entertain with it. I actually love it better when I see it in person.

As you know this season is also the season to have fun. One reason why I love witnessing Fasching or Carnival parade in Germany is watching the street entertainers especially the musicians who are performing with their musical instruments like portable keyboard, guitars, drums, cymbals and more. If you witness any carnival parade in Germany or any countries celebrating it, you will surely have fun!

The sky was gray during that visit. It was winter and this is what you can expect during this season of the year. Regensburg is one of my favorite cities especially in the region of Bavaria, commonly known as Bayern in German. It is a beautiful city and its medieval centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I can’t exactly remember how many times did I already visited the place but when I have visitors from afar, I  always take them here.

I had a doctor’s appointment in Regensburg  last week. I have to wake-up early to catch the train, making it sure that I won’t be late. It was a cold winter morning. I still have to drive to the train station for around 15 minutes. I thought I will be late because the road was quite slippery and driving faster is quite not possible. I was thankful that I made it on time, bought my ticket and still have enough time to catch the train.

After my doctor’s appointment, I decided to stop-by at the mall. The Arcaden mall is just some minutes walk from my doctor’s clinic. Since it is almost lunch time, I decided to take a lunch first at the sushi bar in the mall.  I ordered a Bento Lachs which really taste so good.  Read more… »

Festivals all year round! These are some of the things I love in Germany. You can experience it in any seasons of the year. These so-called Volksfest or People’s Fair for example are very prevalent not only on summer season but also on spring and autumn or fall seasons. Imagine going to the world’s most famous and biggest festival, the Oktoberfest in Munich!

The one held in Stuttgart known as the Canstatter Volkfest is also a fabulous festival to visit. Although  this Volksfest is not strictly speaking a beer festival, it is considered by many to be the second largest beer celebration in the world after the Munich Oktoberfest. Read more… »

Summer sale is still going on in Germany and most parts of Europe. This is one of the best times of the year to shop especially for women’s apparel from clothing, shoes, accessories and more. Last month, I went shopping at the mall in Regensburg, Germany. It was indeed a perfect timing because summer sale just started.

Various flags of different nations were hanging because the FIFA Championship was going on that time. Congrats to Germany’s Football Team for winning the game.

The mall called Donau Einkaufszentrum, literally translated as Danube Shopping Center is almost an hour drive. There are a lot  of stores and establishments inside. I was with friends last time and we just decided to go their spontaneously. One decided drive there, so we ended up gallivanting and window shopping at the mall. Read more… »
